QUICK TIPS
- Make sure proxy servers are disabled on your Browser (Tools – Internet Options – Connections – LAN Settings) and that you are set to use LAN or High Speed connection (not dial-up).
- If you are using a router make sure your Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) settings are set to obtain automatically. LAN – Properties – Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
- Check to make sure your CAT5 Ethernet cable is firmly plugged into the computer. Check for link light.
- Make sure your LAN is enabled in your Network Properties and DHCP is enabled.
- Make sure all of your network settings are configured with current drivers.
- If your computer has a LAN connection and a wireless connection, be sure you only use one at a time. Disabling the one you are not using can help prevent possible connection problems.
- Many times when an unusual error occurs with a computer, simply rebooting the system will solve the problem.
BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING
If you are having trouble connecting to the Internet, try the following:
Powercycle. You can start with your computer and work your way to the
radio powercycling each piece of equipment until the problem is fixed
if you want to see where the problem is, or you can just powercycle
everything at once and see if that solves your problem.
To powercycle, simply unplug your router, and/or radio from its
power source, leave unplugged for 30 seconds to a minute and reconnect
the power.
ROUTER NOTE: There is a difference between powercycling and resetting
your router. If you hit the reset button on your router it will erase
all of your settings and you will not be able to connect to the Internet
without reprogramming it.
COMPUTER NOTE: Do not unplug your computer from its power source before you turn it off.
POE NOTE: Be sure you only unplug the power from your POE and all the other cable remain connected. Be sure that the lights on your POE are on. Exception: Ubiquity Radio POE's do not have lights.
BYPASS YOUR ROUTER
If your Internet connection is going through a router and, after powercycling, you still cannot connect to the Internet bypass your router and plug directly into the radio through the network side of the POE—this will help determine if the problem is your router.
To bypass the router, remove the cable that is plugged into the Internet port on your router and plug it into your computer. You will need to program the settings in your Internet protocol on your computer since you are no longer receiving them from your router. If you are not sure of your settings
contact us.
To program your Internet protocol settings:
Start -> My network places -> View network connections -> right click
on the your local area connection icon -> Properties -> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) -> Change the setting from “obtain automatically” to” use the following”
If you are not sure what your settings are,

DNS SERVER PROBLEMS
When a problem occurs with your DNS setting you may have difficulty
pulling up random websites and, at times, you may be unable to access
any websites at all. To see if the problem you are having is DNS related
simply change your DNS settings.
To change or add DNS settings:
Start -> My network places -> View network connections -> right click
on the your connection icon -> Properties -> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
-> Use the following DNS server addresses -> change or enter alternate
DNS server addresses.
You can use any combination of the following DNS settings:
12.127.17.71
12.127.16.67
4.2.2.1
4.2.2.3
